Everyone gets hurt in their lives, and sometimes those hurts linger. Losing a loved one, an old pet, or a childhood friend can cause you to feel grief and sadness for quite a while. We all have moments when we question if the world is really a good place, but the answer is yes because it just isn’t always at our best.
It’s important to understand that even though we might not like it now, some of the things that happen to us are part of the process of growing. When we get hurt in life, it’s easier to stay attached to those experiences as opposed to letting them go, so they no longer control us.
The more we try not to think about something, the more power it holds over us. Instead of trying to figure out why something happened or who was responsible for it happening, let’s take this moment to shift our focus to a new positive instead. This is an opportunity for us to move forward with peace and compassion rather than dwelling on what happened in the past and allowing that pain to continue affecting us negatively in the present moment.
